Elder Care Update
Lauchlin Tench Waldoch devotes her time exclusively to elder law and related issues. Her practice includes wills, trusts, probate, and incapacity planning, including powers of attorney, advance directives for health care such as living wills and health care surrogate designations. A substantial part of her practice also involves assisting individuals in qualifying for public assistance (specifically long term care), the preparation and administration of special needs trusts and estate planning for individuals with disabilities and their families. She is board certified by the Florida Bar in Elder Law and has been designated a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. As former chair of the Public Policy Task Force of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorney's (AFELA) and the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, she works with legislative and regulatory issues affecting seniors and persons with disabilities. Lauchlin received Member of the Year in 1999 and 2005 for the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar and for AFELA in 2001 and 2005. In 2013 she was designated as one of Florida’s Legal Elite. In 2015, she was selected as a Florida Super Lawyer. She is also active in numerous national, state and community organizations related to the elderly and individuals with disabilities. Her community involvement includes Pro Bono service at Tallahassee Senior Center, participating in Tallahassee Active Lifelong Leadership (TALL) program addressing home ownership and the law.
Victoria E. Heuler has been an established Elder Law Attorney since 2000 and has been actively engaged in the practice of Elder Law with an emphasis in incapacity matters, guardianship and related litigation, and has been Certified in Elder Law Lawyer by the Florida Bar since 2007.
Victoria is a member in good standing of both the Florida and Georgia bars. She also handles matters involving the protection of elder rights, representation of fiduciaries and agents, end-of-life issues and advanced directives, advocacy and representation in matters involving exploitation of vulnerable adults, and estate and trust administration.
Victoria is a leader in educational discussions on topics related to aging and has created and presented a unique advanced directives clinic designed to allow interaction with participants in discussing and preparing individualized advanced directives, including living wills.
Victoria is also proud of her distinction as a Florida Circuit Civil Mediator, having completed a 40 hour guardianship mediation course, and as a Veteran’s Administration Accredited Attorney authorized to represent our nation’s Veterans.
