While traditional estate planning assumes clients and beneficiaries act rationally, human behavior often sabotages the best-designed wealth transfer strategies. This session explores how behavioral economics principles—such as mortality salience, choice overload, mental accounting, and loss aversion—impact client execution, trust administration, and family asset division. Join the discussion about practical choice architecture and behavioral strategies to overcome client procrastination, how to structure trusts that mitigate windfall dissipation, and managing family dynamics to reduce post-death litigation risks.

The Carl DeSantis Executive Education Center at the Herbert Wertheim College of Business at Florida State University is sponsoring submission of this program for one hour of continuing education credit with the CFP Board, pending approval.
