Mr. Keating has served in the Chief Investment Officer role for the past 25 years, 14 of which were with Old Kent Financial in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to joining CenterState Bank, he spent five years as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for RBC Private Asset Management. CenterState Bank’s Wealth Management Division current controls assets in excess of $2 billion.

Prior to joining Old Kent, he was Vice President, Chief Economist and Director of Fixed Income at American National Bank and Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois. He had been with American National for over eight years as an economist and investment strategist. Prior to joining American National, he served as an economist for the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago for three years.

Mr. Keating received his B.A. degree in economics with highest honors from DePaul University and his M.S. degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He served for three years on the Economic Advisory Committee of the American Bankers Association and has been an instructor at the University of Illinois and at the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago.

Mr. Keating is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Associated Press and local newspapers across the nation. He has been interviewed on CNBC, Bloomberg News, FOX Business News and local TV and radio outlets. Since 1987, he has published commentary assessing economic and financial market trends in a monthly Investment Strategy Statement.
