As the Major and Planned Gifts Director for the Children’s Home Society of Florida, Charon is located at the Corporate Office in Winter Park. She has over 30 years experience serving nonprofit organizations in the areas of governance, advanced estate and financial planning using charitable gifts, and fundraising specifically in securing both major and planed gifts.
Charon has worked extensively in the estate planning arena as a former Vice President and Senior Trust Officer, AEP; in the insurance field as a CLU; and in the areas of financial planning holding Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and 27 securities licenses. She is an extensive public speaker and has published several articles in these professional areas during her career. She served a two-year term on the Florida Bar Association’s Attorney Grievance Committee for the 6th Judicial District and is a past President of the North Suncoast Estate Planning Council. Charon is honored to be the first woman Rotarian in Pasco County and, although not currently active, looks forward to renewing her membership in the “not too distant” future.
Charon is currently a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Central Florida Estate Planning Council. She also has a private consulting practice as a nonprofit coach, providing services to numerous nonprofits throughout the State of Florida.
Charon is a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University, the Florida Trust School at the University of Florida, and the American College, Brywn Mauer, CLU program. She is married to John Bogner and they have one son and two granddaughters.
